What this game trains and how it helps
Task Switch is a short flexibility game: a colored shape appears, and a cue says whether to answer the color or the shape. The same picture can ask for two different taps.
A trial is correct only when you follow the cue. If the cue says COLOR and the shape is a blue square, the right tap is blue. If the cue flips to SHAPE, the right tap is square. Some rounds stay on the same rule; others switch, so the habit of the last tap can get in the way.
Early levels give more time and more stay rounds. Higher levels move faster and flip the rule more often. Short sessions are enough. Two to five minutes is a comfortable dose. The game is a calm practice for anyone who wants to change rules on the fly — students, adults, and curious players — not a medical test and not a promise of special results. Play for that little flip of the cue, then come back another day.
How to Play
- A colored shape appears. A cue says COLOR or SHAPE.
- Tap that dimension only: the color, or the shape.
- Some rounds stay on the same rule. Others flip mid-stream.
- Higher levels move faster and flip the rule more often.
Goal
Tap the color when the cue says color, or the shape when the cue says shape. A trial is correct only when the chosen button matches the cued rule.
