Number Sequence asks you to spot the rule in a short list of numbers and pick the missing value. It is math puzzle practice: rules may be arithmetic, geometric, or mixed. It sharpens skill inside this task format—not a clinical measure of intelligence and not a guarantee of better grades or job performance.
How Number Sequence works
You see a sequence with one blank, several answer choices, and often a time limit. Difficulty rises by using longer spans, less obvious rules, or operations you must infer from examples.
Pattern spotting (in-game)
Each round rewards noticing regularities in the numbers shown. Getting faster here mainly reflects practice with similar puzzles; broad “brain training” claims are not supported as strongly as marketers sometimes suggest.
Logic and arithmetic rehearsal
You compare candidate answers against the implied rule—classic school-style reasoning. Treat mistakes as normal; the point is repeated exposure to lawful structure, not a single high-stakes score.
What it is not
- Not a diagnostic: Does not assess IQ, dyscalculia, or any condition.
- Not therapy: Entertainment and drill only.
- Transfer is limited: You should expect the clearest gains on tasks that look like this one.
